Except it's kind of hard to watch Parenteau & Duchene when Sacco benches them and plays McLeod, Bordaleau, Olver, Mitchell, Hunwick, and Zannon for most of the game.

Every time I watch a game these days, it seems like I'm watching our third and fourth lines all night. It's only made worse when Sacco splits up Landeskog and O'Reilly like he did last game as well.

I just want to watch Bordeleau fight for the rest of the season. Hopefully he and McGrattan can dance again.

How is this team so poopty?

I recall hearing how they were going to turn it around once Landy got back and ROR was signed....

Not so much...

They fooled everyone. When they beat Chicago and San Jose a month ago, even the beat writer, Adrian Dater, thought they were going to pull together a run. What happened instead was a 3-8-1 record.

I knew PA would be a good fit. And he's been really good. I just don't understand how they have gotten worse over the past 2 years after their break through a couple years back. I guess Anderson covered up a lot of flaws that year...

They were good last year, just had a bad November that kept them out of the playoffs. As for this year, a few defensemen came into camp out of shape and slow. The Avs' defense was just waay to slow.

Only if you think a break through is an 8th seed, first round knock out?

2 reasons in my opinion. 1, Poor quality depth forwards and dmen, they dont offer up anything besides taking up icetime and causing goals against. 2, the talent on the team has tuned Sacco out and instead of tryign to inspire them he just plays his pluggers instead.

Also I just have this feelign one way or another we are going to get Jones at the draft, Either we are 30th or we win the lottery. The marketing is too good not to happen.

13 years ago, Popeye Jones asks Joe Sakic advice on how his son can become a better hockey player, today Sakic drafts him at the podium as the 1st overall pick.

Awesome. lol

With this player your getting, most likely Seth Jones (I feel like you and Calgary would make a deal to each get Jones and McKinnon anyway), there's a light at the end of the tunnel and it's bright!

Jones was born October 3rd, 1994. He'll be 19 by the start of next season. He'll most likely be able to step right into your lineup. If you get him, with Duchene,Landeskog,O'Reilly,Stastny,Parenteau and get Downie back healthy your team would look pretty dangerous

All will be meaningless until we have a defence core that doesnt not included Zanon, Hunwick, O'Brien, and somehow acquire a vetran puck moving dman to show guys like Johnson, Barrie, and hopefully Jones, how to run a PP

Stastny should be traded this offseason, he is our only meaninful barganing chip and our needs are too glaring to overlook. Hopefully shipped off to the Leafs for Franson type package.

Franson looks here to stay now. I've been on the Stastny wagon for a while but you would have to take Grabo back for that deal to work

Maybe Gunnarsson,Grabo and a prospect

How to keep watching the Avs?

Step one: put game on.

Step two: place bag on head.

Step three: slam head onto table (wall or floor will do)

Step four: repeat step three for 60 minutes (you can take breaks in between periods)

I assure you the effect will be the same as you experience by actually watching this team play a hockey game in 2013.

Even though I know it is the best thing for the franchise.... it is hard to cheer for your team to lose.

That 2nd San Jose goal on Friday night was gut wrenching bitter/sweet.

The only worse than losing right now is losing and getting a loser point. If you are going lose, lose in regulation time.

Someone help me out here, did St. Louis play EJ or Petro right after drafting them or did they spend time in the juniors?

Erik Johnson remained in college for another season after being drafted and then jumped straight to the NHL.

Alex Pietrangelo played nine games with the Blues and then was returned to his junior team for two straight seasons. The second season, he actually stayed with the Blues for about half of the regular season, practiced with them and hung with the team and then played in the WJC's before actually going back to his junior team in January of that year.

You don't really cheer for your team to lose. At least for me it's more about rooting for teams like the Flames and Panthers to win.

In the end it won't really matter anyway because Edmonton is going to win the lottery.

Imagine there was still a lockout, that itself is a good enough reason for me to still pay attention to my Avs. Rough season yes but although some of us are doubtful I think changes will be coming. What kind of changes idk, but I believe there is some coming nonetheless.

I just hope its not the changes I am scared of happening, trading away one of the core kids to "shake up the roster"

As long as Sacco and Sherman are still around, this is actually a possability of happening.

I really don't think the leafs have a high interest in Stastny anymore. Also... you're right about the d-men. Trading away Kirk and Stewart/ Liles seemed to be the Avs saying they want huge dmen, yet they've collected poor skating boobs. Calgary has the same issue. Wanna trade Zanon for Sarich?!?!
